Sooty blotch

Sooty blotch is not a disease but is common on blueberry stems.
Symptoms
Superficial gray to black blotches form on green stems and twigs, giving them a sooty appearance.

Disease cycle
The causal organism is common in the environment and grows below the cuticle on plant surfaces. It does not appear to harm the plant.

Management
No control measures are necessary.
Sooty blotches on stems.
